Cuba Gastro Illness Sweeps Island Hotels

Holidaymakers planning to travel to the popular holiday destination of Cuba are being warned to take extra care and precautions to prevent a holiday illness as a mystery illness sweeps the country.

The unknown illness has taken hold and has now spread to many of the country’s most popular holiday resorts, with hundreds of new cases of the illness being reported everyday. Since the illness outbreak began in January there have been many reported cases of the illness in Cuba with sufferers complaining of symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea and nausea.

Cuban officials are quickly trying to determine whether there has been an outbreak of a specific infection or virus and where this might have originated from.

Holidaymakers who are travelling to the popular holiday destination with tour operators such as Thomas Cook and Thomson and are staying at hotels such as: the Sol Rio de Luna y Mares; the Melia Las Dunas; the Hotel Playa Pesquero; the Melia Cayo Coco; the Sol Cayo Santa Maria and the Paradisus Rio Oro are advised to take steps to prevent contracting the illness.

Illness Reported at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort

Breaking News – Sickness Reports – Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort – Claim Compensation + £250 Bonus – Ocho Rios – Thomas Cook Complaints - January 2012

Simpson Millar LLP travel lawyers have been dealing with holiday compensation claims for over 30 years. Our staff specialise in pursuing illness claims against both Thomas Cook and First Choice.

Have you suffered from diarrhoea, stomach cramps, headaches, flu-like symptoms and vomiting whilst staying at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort?

Travellers returning from the Jamaica Grande ill have raised concerns about poor standards of hygiene at the hotel. Food is said to have been recycled and served at tepid temperatures and this is thought to have been the cause of illness amongst its guests.

The 4 star Hotel is located on the beach and is offered for sale in the UK by both Thomas Cook and First Choice Holidays.

If it transpires that this spate of holiday illness was due to food poisoning or negligence on the part of the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort’s management then holidaymakers can expect to receive substantial compensation.
