Simpson Millar Solicitors have been instructed by a large group of holidaymakers who suffered from gastric illness whilst staying at the Holiday Village Costa del Sol.
The symptoms associated with their holiday illness include: profuse diarrhoea; violent stomach cramps; headaches; and fever.
A number of our clients were diagnosed with the illness, cryptosporidiosis, upon their return from the Holiday Village Costa del Sol.
This debilitating illness is caused by the consumption of the parasite cryptosporidium which is ingested when swimming in water that has been contaminated by infected human faeces.
The cryptosporidium bug often affects children because they spend a significant amount of time swimming in the hotel pool whilst on holiday.
Holidaymakers returning ill from the Holiday Village Costa del Sol are advised to seek immediate medical treatment from their GP. Stool samples may reveal the cause of this spate of holiday illness which will assist our investigations.
