LATEST NEWS - Holiday Illness – Sol Rio De Luna y Mares – Claim Compensation + £250 Bonus – Thomas Cook Complaints – Sickness Claims – Suspected Food Poisoning
Simpson Millar Solicitors are reading reports that holiday makers returning from the Sol Rio De Luna y Mares in Guardalavaca, Cuba, have been exposed to poor hygiene practices.
Simon Lomax, the firm’s Holiday Illness Claims Manager says:
“Recent reviews on the internet suggest that a large number of the Sol Rio De Luna y Mares guests have returned to the UK suffering from profuse diarrhoea, stomach cramps, fever, headaches and dehydration – symptoms often attributable to food poisoning.”
“We receive too many enquiries from traveller’s returning from Cuba ill given the size of the destination. A large number of our clients have been exposed to bacterial infections from salmonella, giardia lamblia, e coli and campylobacter.”
“These infections can easily be spread and illness outbreaks have been known to occur in Cuban hotels, particularly when birds have access to the food.”
“Food should be covered at all times and served in a hygienic matter to reduce the risk of food contamination from salmonella food poisoning, giardiasis and e coli infection. This does not appear to have been happening at the Sol Rio de Luna y Mares in July and August 2011.”
