Holidaymaker Diagnosed with Salmonella Poisoning at the Steigenberger Al Dau Club in Egypt

Steigenberger Al Dau Club – Salmonella – Compensation Claims + £250 Bonus – Faecal Matter in Pools – Egypt Holiday Illness Claim – Suspected Food Poisoning

Simpson Millar solicitors are reading recent online reports about an alleged illness outbreak at the Steigenberger Al Dau Club. Travel reviews suggest that holidaymakers have fallen ill with profuse diarrhoea – stomach cramps – sickness and fever.

It is understood that travellers returning from the Hotel have been diagnosed with Salmonellosis – the medical term for the gastric illness often caused by salmonella food poisoning. Salmonella food poisoning is often caused by the consumption of raw chicken, contaminated eggs, and/or poor hygiene practices.

A large number of holidaymakers have reported suffering from similar symptoms, and they are advised to consult their GP immediately. Salmonella is a nasty bacterium which can have severe consequences, particularly for young children and the elderly.

If not treated quickly and correctly, Salmonellosis can cause secondary conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Reactive Arthritis.

Holidaymakers also report online that the swimming pool at the Steigenberger Al Dau Club contained faecal matter which was not removed quickly.

If it transpires that a spate for illness was caused by salmonella food poisoning at the Steigenberger Al Dau Club holidaymakers can expect to receive substantial compensation from their tour operators. Thomas Cook and other UK tour operators should not be sending holidaymakers to hotels with unacceptable hygiene standards.
