Simpson Millar’s Holiday Illness Claims team announce that they have been instructed by holidaymakers whose stay at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort and Spa was marred by Salmonellosis.
Holidaymakers have stated that they have been the victims of profuse and uncontrollable diarrhoea – severe stomach cramps – fever and sickness at the Hotel.
The illness appears to have swept through this ‘4T+’ all inclusive resort in Bavaro in the Dominican Republic devestating honeymoons and wedding parties.
We are currently investigating the possibility that poor hygiene was to blame at the hotel and that the food served as part of the all inclusive package contained the salmonella bacteria. If it transpires that this spate of illness at the Dreams Punta Cana Resort was due to salmonella food poisoning then guests can expect to receive compensation from their tour operator,
Salmonella is removed from food by cooking it thoroughly and serving it at an appropriate temperature. Holidaymakers whose stay at the resort was marred by illness should contact their doctor immediately to obtain medical treatment and an appropriate diagnosis.
The Dreams Punta Cana Resort and Spa is a 4T+ all inclusive package holiday sold by Thomson in the UK. The hotel is located on the beach and features a lagoon style pool that winds its way through the hotel complex. It has over 600 rooms and is officially rated 5 star by the Dominican authorities.
