Holiday Sickness Hits Nubian Village Resort Again

Holiday Illness - Nubian Village Resort - Claim Compensation + £250 Bonus -  First Choice -Sickness Claims - Egypt - Food Complaints - Thomas Cook

Latest News January 2012 - The Nubian Village Resort is designed like a traditional Egyptian Village with two pools and several restaurants. Poor reviews have blighted the hotel in recent weeks with a number of UK travellers blaming gastric sickness as the main cause of their dissatisfaction.

Tour operators including First Choice and Thomas Cook can expect to receive a number of complaints relating to the quality of food and poor hygiene practises, if the reviews on TripAdvisor are anything to go by!

Simpson Millar’s specialist holiday illness claims team is currently investigating whether food poisoning at the Nubian Village was the cause of this spate of holiday sickness.

E coli – salmonella and campylobacter are often the causes of food poisoning among ill UK holidaymakers travelling to Egypt. Infected persons can pass the bacteria on to other holidaymakers causing illness and food handlers are recognised as a particular hazard.

Infection is usually apparent within 6-72 hours after the consumption of contaminated food. Stomach cramps, diarrhoea, vomiting and fever are characteristic symptoms which usually last at least 7 days.

Proper cooking normally kills bacteria and prevents food poisoning and travellers’ diarrhoea.
