Kuredu Island Resort – Illness in Paradise

Specialist holiday illness claims solicitors, Simpson Millar are currently claiming compensation for a group of British travellers who have returned from the Kuredu Island resort on Lhaviyani Atoll with gastric illness.

• Suffered Illness at the Kuredu Island Resort?
• Were you one of many who saw the doctor?
• Was your Thomson/First Choice Representative useless?

In recent weeks the number of travellers’ returning to the UK with sickness and diarrhoea from islands in the Maldives has been rising.

Those holiday-makers who have contacted us having returned ill from the Kuredu Island Resort describe suffering severe and uncontrollable diarrhoea – nausea – fever and acute stomach cramps. These symptoms are often attributed to ingesting food contaminated with salmonella.

Simpson Millars Solicitors’ Holiday Illness and Accident Claims manager, Simon Lomax, states:

“We helped hundreds of holidaymakers claim compensation from tour operators in 2011 who suffered food poisoning abroad. We are now instructed to claim compensation for a group of holiday-makers who stayed at the Kuredu Island Resort in February 2012.”

“The symptoms described are typical of Salmonellosis, an illness caused by the nasty salmonella bug which is commonly ingested by consuming faecally contaminated food or water."

“We suspect that hygiene standards at the Kuredu Island have lapsed lately and this has gone unnoticed by the tour operators, Thomson, First Choice Holidays and Kuoni. If it transpires that holiday-makers have been victims of salmonella food poisoning or any other debilitating illness caused by unsanitary conditions, our clients can expect to receive substantial compensation.”

The Kuredu Island Resort is one of the Maldives largest islands and has a checkered history when it comes to illness. If you suffer e coli food poisoning – salmonella - dysentery - campylobacter – e. coli or cryptosporidium on holiday at the Kuredu Island Resort and you would like to know how to make a compensation claim, our lawyers are available to take your call.

Simpson Millar LLP’s highly specialist illness team pursues holiday claims on a ‘no win no fee – 100% compensation’ basis.

I agree, it is a tropical paradise. I will write this on my "Must Go To Beaches for this Lifetime". But be careful on what you eat there. I will not recommend the dried fish due to salmonella.
