The majority of reports comment on how bad the food was and how illness has struck them.
One guest who stayed at the Flamingo Oasis Benidorm said "Come on Guys, get your act together and sort this tummy bug out! ...3 of our party had sickness and the runs".
This guest is commenting on the sheer amount of reports about the bug at the hotel that she and her party also suffered.
Another guest said they had an “awful” time at the hotel. “We were left in a room overnight with a blocked toilet which would not flush and we all had the runs! It was horrendous.”
“Thomson got involved but they said they could not move us rooms because there was none available - and they couldn’t call a plumber out as it was midnight… our room stunk like a sewer.”
In return to this review on “Trip Advisor” the Customer Service Manager of the Flamingo Oasis hotel commented saying “the staff provided the very best solution available to them at the time… At the time you were staying with us, a norovirus outbreak was occurring in the UK, which can often lead to problems in holiday hotels… a very small percentage of guests were affected by illness which might have been norovirus”
This comment by the hotel goes to show how hotels will not blame the illness on their own hygiene practises and try their best efforts to re-direct accusations elsewhere. Generally speaking if there is a norovirus outbreak at a hotel, it should then be closed and undergo a deep clean. This is why it’s key to seek specialist help when making a complaint.
